Social dialogue
Social dialogue is a process that includes all types of negotiations, consultations and information exchange between representatives of governments, employers and workers on issues of mutual interest and related to socio-economic policy.
In the Resolution on Tripartism and Social Dialogue, adopted by the International Labour Organization on 18 June 2002, social dialogue is defined as a valuable democratic tool for solving social problems, forming consensus; it is a modern and dynamic process that has a unique potential and wide opportunities to promote progress in the context of globalization, regional integration and transition.
According to the treaties and legislation of the European Union, the term "social dialogue" refers to the procedure of joint consultations of social partners at the European level.
