Association of Organizations of Employers of Ukraine (AOEU)
The Association of Organizations of Employers of Ukraine (AOEU) defends the interests and rights of employers in their relations with state authorities, local self-government bodies, and trade unions.
AOEU represents the employers' side in collective bargaining at the national level, participates in the negotiation and implementation of the General Agreement, facilitates the resolution of individual labor disputes, and contributes to the regulation of social-labor, economic relations, state employment programs, labor protection, tax and pricing policies. Its scope of activity includes promoting the creation and preservation of jobs, improving the system of training, retraining, and skills development of the
workforce, and more.
The Association of Organizations of Employers of Ukraine actively works on the issues of building economic and social-labor relations in the country, including:
- Establishing an effective social dialogue at all levels of governance, from individual enterprises, towns, cities, districts, regions to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
- Creating a favorable climate for the development of industry and entrepreneurship.
- Strengthening the social responsibility of businesses.
AOEU protects the interests of domestic manufacturers under the conditions of the World Trade Organization (WTO), promotes Ukraine's integration into the global economic space, its participation in the international division of labor, and the implementation of international legal norms in the Ukrainian legal field.
The Association of Organizations of Employers of Ukraine was established in 2009 and consists of 8 all-Ukrainian and 24 territorial associations of employers' organizations. The total number of employees working in the member enterprises of AOEU is over 2 million.
The Association has a Certificate of Compliance with representativeness criteria issued by the National Mediation and Reconciliation Service of Ukraine.
The Association of Organizations of Employers of Ukraine (AOEU) is one of the most active employers' structures in the country. It cooperates with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and has submitted its proposals to the draft of the General Agreement for the years 2019-2021.
The Association actively operates on the international stage. Its representatives consistently participate in the sessions of the International Labour Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland. In June 2023, Deputy Chairperson of AOEU, Vasil Kostrytsia, called on the ILO from the conference podium to exclude russia, as an aggressor country, from its members.
The Chairperson of AOEU is Anatoliy Kinakh, a well-known Ukrainian statesman and co-chair of the National Tripartite Social and Economic Council.
