Lithuanian State Day: Anatoliy Kinakh participated in the celebrations of the holiday
On July 6th, Lithuania celebrates its State Day. On this occasion, the Head of the AOEU (Association of rganizations of Entrepreneurs of Ukraine) and President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Anatoliy Kinakh, greeted our friends and partners. The leader of the business community in Ukraine took part in the ceremonial reception at the Embassy of Lithuania and expressed his gratitude to the Lithuanian people for their powerful support to Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggressors.
The President noted that since the beginning of the war, Lithuania has been one of Ukraine's most active allies, advocating for the isolation of the Russian Federation, increased support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the provision of necessary equipment, machinery, and humanitarian aid.
"In addition, Lithuania has been engaged in the reconstruction of various social facilities in the Kyiv region. The ULIE is a partner in this project. We aim to scale up this experience to other regions by involving all interested EU countries," Anatoliy Kinakh stated.
According to him, the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists was one of the first to reach out to the ULIE with an offer of assistance. The partners have been working together for many years and have co-organized annual business forums, the Ukrainian-Lithuanian Business Council, and more.
In the first weeks of the full-scale war, the Confederation organized the delivery of over 160 tons of humanitarian aid.
Lithuania shares its experience in the creation and management of parks and free economic zones (FEZ). There are good bilateral relations in the logistics sector, agreements have been reached regarding the development of a transport corridor between the port cities of Odesa and Klaipeda, and solutions are being developed for insuring war risks to facilitate bilateral business development.
The overall support provided by the Lithuanian state to businesses and residents of Ukraine amounts to nearly 1 billion euros.
At the government level, Lithuania plans to develop and implement a comprehensive program for the recovery of Ukraine over several years. This program will include not only the restoration of damaged or destroyed objects but also the construction of related infrastructure for the affected cities and towns, such as industrial parks, rehabilitation centers, bomb shelters, and more.
"We are truly proud to have such a good friend as Lithuania, its people, who have stood by our side during the Russian aggression against Ukraine, offering their unwavering support in everything, from Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, to our ultimate victory on the battlefield," emphasized Anatoliy Kinakh.
